Bullet Points
Benefits
- Usable on many body parts.
- Cheap.
- It can be appealing to not be able to remove stimulation. Peppermint is one of the easiest and safest ways to do so.
- Extremely versatile in how you can affect the stimulation. Air, water, etc.
- Helps with potential yeast infections, is used to treat a variety of things.
- Easy to heavily tweak in intensity, from minor to extremely overwhelming sensations.
Downsides
- Must be precisely measured and planned as it cannot be removed easily.
- Smell can linger and be reminiscent of toothpaste.
Safety Tips
- Ensure the oil is 100% essential peppermint oil, with no additives.
- Unknown allergies exist. Plan and test thoroughly before committing to serious use.
- Do not use it daily / frequently to avoid any potential complications.
- Extremely rare cases of chemical burns are reported when using 100% undiluted peppermint oil. We do not recommend using peppermint oil undiluted. Go further at your own risk.
- Chemical play can easily be edge play. Do your best to stay safe and sane.

A squeeze bottle is ideal for applying diluted oil. It even works from a distance!

Info & Advice
A mix of oil (we recommend coconut) and peppermint essential oil will leave you or your submissive begging for more stimulation. It will begin as a warm sensation, quickly becoming cold.
Be careful, as adding water or airflow will significantly increase the effect without causing any irritation. This can be used in many fun ways, such as:
- A minty, slippery make-out session where both parties desire each other’s heat more than usual.
- Blowing warm air onto a minty part
- Squirting water all over someone covered in oil
- Enjoying a hot and steamy shower that feels oddly cold.
- Freezing or combining with ice cubes.
Ice cubes will provide extremely intense stimulation when combined with a minty body part – simply imagine the feeling of water and toothpaste combined with the cold of an ice cube. Alternatively, it can also be frozen in a mix with coconut oil for ice-play that quickly turns a different kind of chilly. (Be careful as the oils may separate, causing uneven melting and release)
As everyone is different, the ratio of oils will depend on you to test. If you are using it on your submissive, we suggest you discover your own limit, then reduce significantly from there – if they want more, it’s easy to increase stimulation… but it’s quite hard to reduce it.
A good ratio to start with is 20 parts coconut, 1 part mint. Slowly increase from there, and keep in mind the effect will only truly start after roughly 5 minutes. Avoid using high concentrations anywhere near the eyes or the urethra.
As water will not wash it off, and it is easily absorbed into skin, you can expect the feeling to last roughly 30 minutes… regardless of what you do. Once you begin, there is no going back. Be ready to combine this with significant other stimulation, as the effect can get intense but can also be incredibly pleasant while distracted by… other things.
This oil can be “enjoyable” when used on: Penis/Clit, Balls, Internal Vaginal, Anus, Nipples, Armpits
Bonus: adding a body-safe sweetener can turn things into a candy-like treat.
Body Safety
Mouth
Safe to swallow if diluted, and generally beneficial/non-harmful. If ingested, dilution or capsules are recommended as it can potentially strip your throat of mucus, or cause irritation if concentrated and forcibly inhaled. Like with all oils, avoid consuming in large quantities.
Eyes
Safe to use on eyelids, or the delicate skin around it if diluted, but not recommended all the same. Very painful, but unlikely to require professional medical attention if it gets into the orb itself. Flush for 5-15 minutes with clean water, or until the cooling/burning sensation fades. If undiluted and a large quantity (More than a few drops) is spilled into the orb, seek help while flushing with water.
Nipples
Safe.
Armpits
Safe. May irritate those with sensitive skin if undiluted.
Anus
Safe, though ideally diluted before use. May irritate the rectum if undiluted.
Vagina
Safe, though ideally diluted before use. Undiluted is not recommended, but likely fine in sane quantities.
Penis
Safe, for circumcised and uncircumcised users. May irritate those with sensitive skin if undiluted, or if gotten directly on the glans.
Urethra
If diluted, safe. Similar to swallowing. Like with all substances, avoid forcing large quantities of it directly into the hole, as it can clog it, and bring in bacteria from outside the area. As always, it is recommended to pee after any and all interactions involving a urethra.
Skin
Safe. May cause irritation if undiluted and applied on sensitive areas.
Materials Safety
Silicone
Safe – For powered toys, avoid getting oil into crevices where the motor, buttons, or other delicate parts lay.
PVC
Unsafe, will eventually break down the toy (in months of use), and when it breaks down, harmful chemicals will be released.
Latex
Unsafe, will eventually break down the toy (in months of use), causing pieces of it to fall off.
Rubber
Unsafe, will eventually break down the toy (in months of use).
Hard Plastic (ABS)
Seemingly safe.
TPR/TPE
Unsafe, will eventually break down the toy (in months of use), causing pieces of it to fall off.
Clothes
Can cause stains (Like most oils), but is generally easily cleaned with hot water and soap. Doesn’t stain a particular color.
Conclusion
A surprisingly safe and versatile substance! Don’t underestimate how fun it can be, either in a dom/sub dynamic or even simply when used to spice things up in almost any context.
Our first time using it for a shoot, we emptied out a full squeeze bottle of 10-1 coconut/mint oil. As of the time this is being written, it has been 3 weeks and we will still randomly smell mint.
It took some testing before the shoot, but once the shoot began and Kurai accepted her fate, she found surprising enjoyment in how intense the sensation got.
The smell and fumes making her eyes water was perhaps the sole downside of the experience.
The ice combination and suggestions in this article are entirely inspired by her own suggestion mid-shoot – we had no plans to use it before she suggested trying it.
It turned out to be a very strong combination that lead to some unusual orgasms. One of our favorite shoots ever, and we can thoroughly recommend experimenting with this kind of play!
